Gaia Project: The Lost Fleet

I’m a huge fan of Gaia Project, so this opportunity to work on its expansion had me jumping with joy! There’s not much flavour text in the expansion, but some of the faction names are completely different between the English and German editions of the base game. The game is quite ‘meaty’, rated at weight 4.4 out of 5 on BGG, and the translator was not familiar with the rules. This lead to some back and forth in order to get the technical aspects just so. One of the core game mechanisms uses a different linguistic approach from the original language in English (gaining and charging power vs the original’s ‘gaining power tokens and gaining power’), which is a very confusing thing to have to get your head around at first.
